The Last Hurrah

I just thought that I would post up a picture from the open house that the Knights had yesterday (June 4th). As you can see, I have my digital camera working again (stupid battery!) so needless to say I was elated that I didn't have to buy another disposable camera.

Anyways, what you see here is ateam picture taken at the end of the awards ceremony for the squad at the end of the night. What they did was have all the players come to the front of the stage (the over age players whose careers are done with London wore their team jerseys one last time)and the hardware (trophies) that the team had won (the OHL championship, Memorial Cup and Divisional championships) were held up by various players and was met with another thunderous applause and loads of cheering.

I call this photo "The Lasr Hurrah" because it really is for this edition of the London Knights. As I said already, alot of these players will most likely leave and go to the NHL teams that they were drafted by and start the new phase of their playing career. It's sad to see the team disband now (with the exception of some up and coming 2nd and 3rd players remaining for next season)because they were special. But such is life in major junior hockey, the cycle continues. But this season will always be special.

So one last time ... "The Last Hurrah"
